...at the happiest place on earth!
I had an amazing time with the Pleasant Grove High School Marching Band in Disneyland over the weekend. Each year, High Schools from all over the country come to Disneyland to march down main street. It is an experience that creates lifelong memories for the students, chaperones, and parents that travel to the park to watch their amazing performance.
Capturing the moment.
If you ever get the chance to head to Anaheim with your marching band student this is the best hint to getting the perfect shots.
Arrive to your viewing spot early. The kiddos start the parade on the right side of the Small World attraction in Fantasyland and march toward the front gates of the park. Arrive in the Town Square at the start of Main Street near the Fire Station at least 30 minutes early to grab a bench or stand on the curb to snag a great picture with Sleeping Beauty's iconic castle and Walt Disney's statue in the background.
Getting close to the action!
The band will march around on the Fire Station side of town square. The curve of the marching line gives an incredible close and unobstructed view of all of the students. After viewing the parade on that side, you can quickly jaunt over to the other side of the roundabout to catch the show and grab a few more shots before they exit through the doors near the Discovery Arcade. It's always such a fun experience and I hope other band families use this information to snag some great photos and video as well!
